Tenth ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 In India, Bangladesh, Sri lanka

The Tenth Cricket World Cup tournament will be hosted in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the year 2011. Bangladesh will be co-hosted the cricket world cup tournament for the first time. India will be hosted the world cup tournament for the third time. and also Sri Lanka will be co-hosted the tournament for the second time. The Cricket World Cup 2011 will be started on 19th February, 2011. Fourteen teams will be participated in the Tenth Cricket World Cup 2011 tournament. The opening ceremony will be held on 17th February, 2011. Total 49 matches will be played between fourteen nations cricket teams. The Tenth Cricket World Cup Tournament Matches Schedule.

Pakistan was also supposed to be co-hosted in the 2011 Cricket World Cup but the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to strip Pakistan of its hosting rights because of terrorist attacks on the Sri Lanka national cricket team in Lahore during Sri Lanka's tour in 2009. The headquarters of the organizing committee shifted in Mumbai from Lahore after terrorist attacks in Lahore. Pakistan was supposed to hold 14 matches, including one semi-final but after terrorist attacks in Lahore. ICC (International Cricket Council) re-allocation of matches originally intended to be played in Pakistan. Eight of Pakistan's matches including semi-final have been awarded to India, four of Pakistan's matches have been awarded to Sri Lanka, and two of Pakistan's matches have been awarded to Bangladesh. As a results India will now host 29 matches instead of 21 matches in the eight venues including one semi-final and the final, Sri Lanka will host 12 matches instead of 8 matches in the three venues including one semi-final, and Bangladesh will host 8 matches instead of 6 matches in the two venues including the opening ceremony on 18th February, 2011 as well.

Format
The Cricket format of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup will be One Day International(ODI) format. The format of the 2011 Cricket World Cup tournament identical to the 1996 world cup. 14 teams in 2011 Cricket World Cup and in the 1996 Cricket World Cup it was 12 teams, this is the only change in the 2011 Cricket World Cup format. The first round of the tournament will be a round-robin. The 14 teams are divided into 2 groups of 7 teams each. The 7 teams play each other once. Each team gets to play a minimum of 6 matches even if they out of the tournament. The top 4 teams from each group qualify for the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals round will be knock-out round. The winners teams of the quarter-finals qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals enter in the final match.


Prize money

International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a Prize Money in the ICC Board meeting on 20th April, 2010 in Dubai . The Winner of the 2011 Cricket World Cup team will receive US$10 million. Double figure of 2011 Cricket World Cup Prize Money Compared to the last 2007 World Cup Peize Money.

The 2011 Cricket World Cup Mascot is very young, enthusiastic and is determined who is a ten year old elephant whoes name is Stumpy. He was unveiled at a function in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The Cricket World Cup Tournament is the international championship of men's One Day International (ODI) cricket. The event is organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Tournament has been held every four years since 1975. The Cricket World Cup Tournament was  organized  first  time in the year of 1975 in England. Nine Cricket World Cup Tournament has been already played since 1975. The five teams have won The Cricket World Cup Tournament. The nations are Australia, West Indies, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. From these Nine World Cup Tournament Australia have won four Cricket World Cup Tournament, West Indies have Won Two World Cup Tournament and India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won Single Cricket World Cup Tournament.

England hosted the first three cricket world cup tournaments and the tournaments officially known as the Prudential Cup.

1975 Cricket World Cup
The First Cricket World Cup held in England in the year 1975. The matches played during the daytime. The Players wearing white cloth and using red cricket ball. Eight teams participated in the first tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and East Africa. The tournament won by the West Indies, who defeated Australia by 17 runs at Lord's, London.

1979 Cricket World Cup
The Second Cricket World Cup held in England in the year 1979. Eight teams participated in the second  tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Canada. The Canada cricket team participated in the world cup tournament for the first time. This time also West Indies won a second consecutive world cup tournament, who defeated England by 92 runs at Lord's, London.

1983 Cricket World Cup
The Third Cricket World Cup held in England in the year 1983. Eight teams participated in the third   tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwe cricket team participated in the world cup tournament for the first time. In this tournament a fielding circle was introduced, 30 yards away from the stumps. And four fielders needed to be insides. In this world cup tournament India won the World cup by defeating the last two world cup champion team West Indies, by 43 runs at Lord's, London.

1987 Fourth World Cup Known As  Reliance World Cup :
The Fourth Cricket World Cup held in India and Pakistan in the year 1987. The fourth cricket world cup tournament known as the Reliance World Cup. The first time that the cricket world cup tournament was held outside England. Eight teams participated in the fourth tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. In this tournament games were reduced from 60 to 50 overs per innings because of the shorter daylight hours in the India subcontinent compared with England's summer. The tournament won by Australia, who defeated England by 7 runs at Eden Gardens, Kolkatta, the closet margin in the cricket world cup final history.

1992 Fifth World Cup Known As Benson & Hedges World Cup :
The Fifth Cricket World Cup tournament held in Australia and New Zealand in the year 1992. The fifth cricket world cup tournament known as the Benson & Hedges World Cup. Nine teams participated in the fifth tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka , Zimbabwe and South Africa. The Cricket World Cup tournament, introduced color clothing, white ball, day/night matches and an alteration to the fielding restrictions. The South Africa cricket team participated in the world cup tournament for the first time. 1992 word cup won by Pakistan, who defeated England by 22 runs at MCG, Melbourne.

1996 Sixth World Cup Known As Wills World Cup :
The Sixth Cricket World Cup tournament held in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the year 1996. The sixth cricket world cup tournament known as the Wills World Cup. The Cricket world cup tournament was held second time in the Indian subcontinent. Twelve teams participated in the sixth tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka , Zimbabwe, South Africa, UAE, Netherlands and Kenya. UAE, Netherlands and Kenya cricket teams participated in the world cup tournament for the first time. Sri Lanka as host for some of its group stage matches. The tournament won by Sri Lanka, who defeated Australia by Seven wickets at Gadafi Stadium, Lahore.

1999 Cricket World Cup
The Seventh Cricket World Cup tournament held in England, Wales, Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland in the  year 1999. Twelve teams participated in the seventh tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka , Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Bangladesh and Scotland. Bangladesh and Scotland cricket teams participated in the world cup tournament for the first time. England hosted the tournament for the forth time. Australia won the world cup tournament second time, who defeated Pakistan by eight wickets at Lord's, London.

2003 Cricket World Cup
The Eighth Cricket World Cup tournament held in South Africa, Kenya and Zimbabwe in the year 2003. Fourteen teams participated in the eighth tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka , Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Bangladesh, Canada, Namibia and Netherlands. Namibia and Netherlands cricket teams participated in the world cup tournament for the first time. Australia won its third world cup tournament. Australia won a second consecutive world cup tournament, who defeated India by 125 runs at Wanderers, Johannesburg.

2007 Cricket World Cup
The Ninth Cricket World Cup tournament held in West Indies in the year 2007. Sixteen teams participated in the ninth tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka , Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Bangladesh, Canada, Netherlands, Scotland, Ireland and Bermuda. Ireland and Bermuda cricket teams participated in the world cup tournament for the first time. Australia won a third consecutive world cup tournament, who defeated Sri Lanka by 53 runs at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown. Australia won its forth title.

2011 Cricket World Cup
The Tenth Cricket World Cup tournament will be hosted in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the year 2011. The event will be started in the month of February. Bangladesh will be co-hosted the cricket world cup tournament for the first time. India will be hosted the world cup tournament for the third time. and also Sri Lanka will be co-hosted the tournament for the second time. Fourteen teams participated in the tenth tournament: Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka , Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Bangladesh, Canada, Netherlands and Ireland.
