The Tenth Cricket World Cup tournament will be hosted in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the year 2011. Bangladesh will be co-hosted the cricket world cup tournament for the first time. India will be hosted the world cup tournament for the third time. and also Sri Lanka will be co-hosted the tournament for the second time. The Cricket World Cup 2011 will be started on 19th February, 2011. Fourteen teams will be participated in the Tenth Cricket World Cup 2011 tournament. The opening ceremony will be held on 17th February, 2011. Total 49 matches will be played between fourteen nations cricket teams. The Tenth Cricket World Cup Tournament Matches Schedule.
Pakistan was also supposed to be co-hosted in the 2011 Cricket World Cup but the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to strip Pakistan of its hosting rights because of terrorist attacks on the Sri Lanka national cricket team in Lahore during Sri Lanka's tour in 2009. The headquarters of the organizing committee shifted in Mumbai from Lahore after terrorist attacks in Lahore. Pakistan was supposed to hold 14 matches, including one semi-final but after terrorist attacks in Lahore. ICC (International Cricket Council) re-allocation of matches originally intended to be played in Pakistan. Eight of Pakistan's matches including semi-final have been awarded to India, four of Pakistan's matches have been awarded to Sri Lanka, and two of Pakistan's matches have been awarded to Bangladesh. As a results India will now host 29 matches instead of 21 matches in the eight venues including one semi-final and the final, Sri Lanka will host 12 matches instead of 8 matches in the three venues including one semi-final, and Bangladesh will host 8 matches instead of 6 matches in the two venues including the opening ceremony on 18th February, 2011 as well.
Format
The Cricket format of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup will be One Day International(ODI) format. The format of the 2011 Cricket World Cup tournament identical to the 1996 world cup. 14 teams in 2011 Cricket World Cup and in the 1996 Cricket World Cup it was 12 teams, this is the only change in the 2011 Cricket World Cup format. The first round of the tournament will be a round-robin. The 14 teams are divided into 2 groups of 7 teams each. The 7 teams play each other once. Each team gets to play a minimum of 6 matches even if they out of the tournament. The top 4 teams from each group qualify for the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals round will be knock-out round. The winners teams of the quarter-finals qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals enter in the final match.
Prize money
International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a Prize Money in the ICC Board meeting on 20th April, 2010 in Dubai . The Winner of the 2011 Cricket World Cup team will receive US$10 million. Double figure of 2011 Cricket World Cup Prize Money Compared to the last 2007 World Cup Peize Money.

The 2011 Cricket World Cup Mascot is very young, enthusiastic and is determined who is a ten year old elephant whoes name is Stumpy. He was unveiled at a function in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
